Hawzah News Agency- Speaking at his weekly press conference, Baghaei sharply criticized Washington’s role in regional conflicts.
"We cannot consider America and the Zionist entity as separate parties'', Baghaei said, asserting that "Whatever happens in Lebanon, America is certainly a fundamental pillar of it."
He stressed that any permanent agreement to end the war must include a halt to the Israeli war on Lebanon, saying, "The ceasefire in Lebanon is an inseparable part of any ceasefire and final agreement to end the war''.
Baghaei affirmed that contradictions in the stances of US officials are either a deliberate tactic or a sign of deeper dysfunction.
"These contradictions in the positions of US officials may be part of their negotiating pattern. If so, it will not work with Iran'', he said.
Additionally, Baghaei noted that "if it stems from confusion within the US governance system, which is a very strong possibility, then this is a problem and a dilemma that the US administration must resolve and decide on as soon as possible''.
He added, "There is a kind of decision-making paralysis that is quite evident in the US decision-making system''.
Baghaei accused the United States of violating ceasefire agreements in the region, including through acts of maritime piracy and interference with Iranian commercial shipping. "America is committing violations of the ceasefire in our region, to which is added the continuation of maritime piracy and interference with Iranian commercial navigation'', he said.
He confirmed that Iran’s armed forces had responded militarily to a US attack. "In response to the American aggression, which constitutes a violation of the ceasefire, the Iranian armed forces targeted objectives at the location from which this aggression originated," Baghaei stated.
He added, "The ceasefire violations in themselves demonstrate America’s misconduct and bad faith and multiply the existing suspicions that we must rightfully always take into account in any dealing with the American side."
Baghaei further asserted that such US actions not only violate the ceasefire but also legally entitle Iran to defensive measures. "These American measures are not merely a violation of the ceasefire, but they justify and authorize us to carry out our corresponding defensive actions within the framework of the right to legitimate defense. As we announced clearly today, we targeted the site from which the aggression originated''.
On maritime security, Baghaei stated, "Ships pass through the Strait of Hormuz in coordination with the Iranian armed forces''.
Responding to claims by Trump regarding the removal of uranium from Iran, Baghaei said flatly, "We have not held any negotiations regarding the details of the nuclear file''.
Baghaei further warned regional governments against allowing their territory to be used for attacks on Iran, saying, "Allowing regional governments for aggressor parties to move against Iran will place them in the ranks of the aggressor parties''.
He expressed solidarity with the people of Kuwait and other peoples in the region "whose lands are being used as a launching point for attacks on Iran''.
The spokesperson dismissed a European Union statement supporting Kuwait as "hypocritical".
"The European Union’s statement in support of Kuwait is an instance of hypocrisy," he said. "One cannot ignore the illegal attack by America and Israel on Iran, and in return condemn Iran’s response''.
Baghaei criticized the United Nations for its passivity, stating, "The United Nations does not take any action and merely plays the role of an onlooker''. He warned that "the repercussions of these situations will not be limited to the region, but will affect the entire world''.
In conclusion, the Iranian official concluded, "Complacency and overlooking the war of genocide are clearly showing their effects on regional and international peace and security, and the international community is obligated to fulfill its responsibilities''.
